"Young lad I work with bumped into him in an Essex club over the holidays, may even have been NYE. He spoke to him for a bit, rav said that he was fed up playing football, hated training more than anything and if it wasnt for the money wouldnt be anywhere near football."

Fuck me! Is that true? If so, then it would clean out the last of my doubts of letting him go, and let's hope we can mug some club off this january for a tenner or two.

He's lazy. That is the long and short of it.

I'm not saying we should all enjoy the same things, but we all have to do a bit of collar, and if football training is a chore for you, getting in at 10, probably finishing at 3, keeping fit and playing football, then you are an inherently lazy person.

Good luck to him, but what a shame he will waste the talent he has.

When he first joined the club had to get a driver pick him up from his flat to take him to training. One of the drivers I spoke to said his personal hygiene is disgusting. According to the Concierge at his flats he'd get home regularly around 3-4 am and would ride scooters all night with his mates.

It's a punt on a very talented player that hasn't paid off but I'd rather we had tried than ignore the opportunity. I doubt he has cost us that much in comparison to other players.
He's been out on loan a lot and I assume there has been a fee and payment of at least some of his wages throughout this time.

Left me a great memory of that goal versus Spurs when he had a good spell in the side.

Alternatively TrevorB's story could be the answer.
He just cant be bothered

The penny HAS to drop soon you'd hope.
Great ability but he has been given up on by Ferguson & Allardyce , not trusted when it mattered by Redknapp and done nothing at Cardiff.
If he was 18 you could think he might grow out of it but he is pissing a great ability up the wall.
Whether being in Rome is the answer is up to him.

Move abroad might be good for him, get him away from various things over here.

Hope he manages to turn it round.

Massive shame. He's had ample opportunities here but seems to have burnt his bridges.

His court case will be over in a few weeks..We could have another Ched on our hands.
Nasty piece of work so need to get rid before the same scenario repeats and he can't escape abroad.
As it is how can he go while he's still up on a charge? Innocent before guilty I know but still..
Didn't Tevez disappear last year and thus not do his time/ community service?

A black mark for our manager who can't manage the boy

He will come good and will earn a club a nice transfer fee in the future
